Welcome to the VGO Taxi mobile application (the “App”). VGO Taxi is a passenger-only ride-hailing app that provides convenient and efficient taxi services in Djibouti.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use, store, share and protect it, and the rights you have regarding your information.
By downloading, installing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information only on the basis of lawfulness, legitimacy and necessity:
2.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily
- Account registration information: Your mobile phone number, used for registration, login verification, identity confirmation and service communication.
- Profile information: Nickname and profile photo you may set (optional).
- Trip-related information: Pick-up and drop-off locations, vehicle type selection, trip notes, and communication records with drivers during trips.
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Precise location information: Required for core functionality. We collect your real-time precise location to match nearby drivers, plan routes, track trips and ensure safety. Denying location permission will disable core ride-hailing services.
- Device information: Device model, OS version, unique device identifiers (Android ID, OAID, etc.), IP address and network status, used to maintain app stability and prevent fraud.
- Log information: Crash logs, operation logs and access records, used for troubleshooting and performance improvement.
2.3 Payment Information
We collect necessary payment details (e.g., e-wallet account, last 4 digits of bank card) to process trip fares. We do NOT store sensitive payment data such as full passwords, CVV codes or verification codes. All payment processing is handled by licensed third-party payment providers.
3. Purposes of Use
We use collected information only to:
1. Provide core ride-hailing services including ordering, matching, navigation, fare calculation and trip receipts;
2. Verify identity, prevent fraud, malicious orders and account breaches;
3. Handle customer support inquiries, complaints and disputes;
4. Improve app functionality and service quality;
5. Send order status updates and service notifications;
6. Comply with applicable laws and regulations in Djibouti.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We will not sell, rent or transfer your personal information to third parties without your explicit consent. Sharing occurs only in these cases:
1. Service necessity: Sharing your name, contact details and trip locations with assigned drivers; sharing location with map providers; sharing payment data with authorized payment processors;
